UPCOMING DATES & INFORMATION:
Tuesday, May 17th - 4th Grade Exhibition Day – 1:30-2:30 – Building F – Come and Go event as you tour the groups around the building – Please join us! The students have worked really hard on their action projects over the last few weeks, and I know they would love for you to see them.
Wednesday, May 18th – Music Celebration – Mrs. Hildebrant will announce each class’ performance time and tell each student who is performing on Tuesday, May 17th. We will either go at 1:30-2:15 or 2:30-3:15. I will let you know as soon as Mrs. Hildebrant lets the classroom teachers know. Her email is [email protected] if you have any questions.
Here is some clarification on the Music Celebration from Mrs. Hildebrant, the music teacher:
After I have seen all the classroom presentations I will select 20 acts to perform in the school assemblies on Wednesday, May 18. There will be two assemblies. (One at 1:30-2:15 and one 2:30-3:15) I will divide the third and fourth grade classes after I have made my selections. I would want the homeroom class to be present at a presentation from their class. I wish I could always pick one act from each class, but some classes really prepare and some don’t. You will know your time slot Tuesday, May 17.
We have been working on how to be “Creative” for about five weeks. At the end of each fourth grade year I encourage the students to prepare creative acts to present to their class. I have given them many options, (singing, dances, lip sync, posters, play instruments, plan a skit with a music component). We have even done some creating together in class. I try to not call it a talent show, because that word sometimes turns kids off if they don’t take some kind of private lessons. We all have the ability to be creative. We just have to give it a try.
Thursday, May 19th - 4th Grade End-of-Year Celebration – 9:00-11:00 – We will enjoy two hours of fun! Feel free to come and join us! Thank you to those of you who are available to volunteer! We will have recess (11:55) and lunch (12:15) at the regular time this day.
Thursday, May 19th - JWE SummerFest – 5:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. – Building F
Friday, May 20th - Super Kids Day – Building F – 10:10-11:10 – for Mary Bauer’s class (There are different times for different classes.) Mrs. Burdick said she would appreciate any donations of bottled water. J Thank you for all of those who have volunteered to help with this great event! Let’s hope for great weather this day! There will be no make-up date if it rains. We will have recess (11:55) and lunch (12:15) at the regular time this day.
